A safe and respectful commencement ceremony honoring our graduates is the goal at graduation. Please read these important ceremony details to ensure a seamless event for everyone attending.

Dress code
Official academic regalia is required to participate in the commencement ceremony. Academic regalia (cap/gown/tassel) can be ordered through our vendor, Herff Jones. Caps may be decorated in an appropriate and non-offensive manner. Nothing may be hanging off the sides or underneath. Caps and gowns will be delivered directly to students. The College covers the cost of cap, gown, tassel, and shipping and handling fee if ordered by November 22, 2024.

Cords and Stoles
Designated service and academic cords are awarded to students who have provided service to the College, achieved honors, and/or been inducted into the Nursing or Imaging Honor Society. Cords not issued by the College may not be worn during the commencement ceremony. Stoles may be worn if they do not have any writing on them. Students receiving cords from a student organization will receive their cords from the advisor(s) of that organization prior to commencement.
  • Honors graduates wear gold cords. Graduates who have earned Honors earned a GPA of 3.50 or higher.
  • Graduates who are active members of Lambda Nu National Honor Society for Radiologic and Imaging Sciences wear green and maroon honor cords.
  • Alpha Delta Nu National Nursing Honor Society graduates wear apricot honor cords and Alpha Delta Nu leadership wear apricot stoles.
  • Graduates who are active members of the National Student Nurses' Association wear blue, white and purple member cords.
