This page will serve as a resource throughout your journey to the first day of class, with reminders and information you need to know.

Financial Aid 

Start financial aid process by submitting the 2024-2025 FAFSA as soon as possible at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. A FASFA is required for using Federal Financial Aid (Federal Direct Loans and Federal Pell Grant), Scholarships, and the BSMH Guild Tuition Benefit (for Bon Secours employees).

After you submit your FAFSA, the Financial Aid Specialist, Helen (Page) Robbins, will contact you to schedule a Financial Aid Counseling Session. You will meet with Ms. Robbins to review a personalized financial plan.

Drop-In Session

The Drop-In session is an on-site kick-off to your journey into the Radiologic Technology Program at SCHS. At this meeting, you will sign important paperwork (see full list below), try on uniforms, login to your student portal and student email account, and connect in small groups with our admissions staff.  

  

  • Date: May 6, 2024 
  • Time: Stop by anytime between 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. – no appointment necessary
  • Location: SCHS, 430 Clairmont Ct, Suite 200, Colonial Heights, VA 23834
    • What to know: Bring your driver’s license, be prepared to have your photo taken for your student badge and try on uniforms  

Orientation

We look forward to seeing you at Orientation on August 20, 2024! Orientation is the last stop for your transition to campus. At this on-site event, we will prepare you for everything you need to confidently start your first week of classes. This will be your first opportunity as an incoming student to meet the people who will be crucial to your success in the program (including your future classmates, program directors, and advisors). We will cover everything from a typical week in the program, show you where your classes and other resources will be in the building, as well as provide you with your parking pass and student badge.

  • April 30, 2024- CastleBranch compliance- You will receive an email from Robin Diacont (Robin_Diacont@bshsi.org) regarding next steps for CastleBranch compliance- check your spam if you do not receive this message! 
  • May 3, 2024- Deadline to purchase CastleBranch account online (~$138)
  • May 6, 2024- Attend Drop-In Session on campus
  • June 1, 2024- Deadline to submit updated official transcripts
  • June 14, 2024- Deadline to complete all CastleBranch compliance requirements
  • August 20, 2024- Attend Orientation on campus 
  • August 23, 2024, by 12 p.m. (noon)- Deadline to pay student bill
  • August 26, 2024 - Semester begins
